2.      Check Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer

3.      Check Allow active content to run in files on My Computer

4.      Click on the Apply button

5.      Click on the OK button

PLEASE NOTE:  If your settings do not match those in the illustration above, you may receive the yellow warning box shown below and have to click it on each page to proceed.

Insert the CD-ROM in your drive.  If prompted, click on “Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.” Then click on “OK.”

If you do not get this option, click on the “My Computer” icon on your desktop and double-click on your CD drive.

Double-click on the file, “start.”

Enter your first and last names as you would like them to appear on a certificate.  You may put in a middle initial with your first name (e.g. Robert J or Robert J.)  To return to the course after exiting, you will need to remember how you entered your name.

Then click on Log-in.

Click on “Launch Course.”

Then click on “Enter the Course.”

Follow the instructions on the first page to learn how to use the course.  Note that you can click on the “Play Audio” button on the bottom right to play or replay the audio on any page.  To automatically hear the audio on each page when it loads, click on the “Enable Audio Autoplay” link in the top right corner of the screen.

When taking post-assessments, after entering your answers, click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of each page to receive feedback on your answer.

Click “OK” in the feedback box to proceed to the next page.

Click on “Go to Course Map” to go quickly to other sections.  Click on “Quit” in the upper right hand corner to leave the course.

On the course map, you can click to go to any lesson, topic or page.  There is a single post assessment at the end of the course.

After you have completed the post assessment, your post assessment results page provides your score and a list of the lessons and topics for which you answered questions incorrectly.  You can go to the course map to review those sections and retake the post assessment.

If you have a passing score, click on the next arrow to see certificate printing instructions.

When you exit the course you are returned to the Enrollment Detail page for the course.  If you have not completed the course, the course status shows incomplete and the session time is noted.

When you have completed the course, a “Print Certificate” link appears, as well as your completion date under “Course Status,” your score, and time for your last session.  The “printing instructions” link at the bottom provides information on how to improve the look of your certificate.

As long as you use the same computer, you can enter and leave the course as many times as you like and your progress and scores will be saved.  You will need to enter your name exactly as you did the first time to access the same progress.

More than one user may use the same CD-ROM and computer, and the scores will be tracked separately for up to 4 separate course uses.  (For example, 4 people can take the course on one computer, if there is no history on the computer from previous years.)  If one attempts to log in after the 4 “spaces” are filled, the user will be prompted to print certificates and remove the records for previously taken courses to allow for additional training on that computer.

See instructions for removing records below.

Follow the instructions for deleting records or for printing certificates:

You can also delete progress from the screen you are returned to when you exit the course.

Either way, you will be asked if you are sure you want to delete the course progress.
